Battery Icon not visible in Taskbar

This is a very common problem with HP laptops running on Windows 10. Many a time you don't get to see the battery indicator icon in the taskbar. Sometimes this automatically solves when you restart your system but that's not the permanent solution. Even I have suffered a lot with this and I finally have a solution here.

Before following the steps ahead, make sure the Power Icon is turned on in your Taskbar Settings. To check this,
1. Right Click on the taskbar and choose the Taskbar Settings

2.  Under the Notification Area section, click on the Turn System Icons On and Off.

3. Make sure that the Power icon is not turned off. It should either be on or greyed.

Once you are sure that this is done, proceed:-

  1. Search for Device Manager in the Search Bar.
  2. Open the Device Manager from search results.
  3. From the drop-down list that appears, double-click on Batteries.
  4. You will find two devices
    • Microsft AC Adapter
    • Microsoft ACPI Compliant Control Method Battery
  5. One by one, disable both of them and re-enable. As soon as you do this, you will find the battery icon in your taskbar. It will remain there even after rebooting. In case if it vanishes again, just repeat the steps.
